            The following resolutions are available:

                   512 x 400 (Interlaced/Non-Interlaced)
                   512 x 480 (Interlaced/Non-Interlaced)
                   640 x 480 (Interlaced/Non-Interlaced)
                  1024 x 768 (Interlace only)
                   768 x 576 (PAL board only, Interlaced/Non-Interlaced)

            Note that only the first two modes (512 x 400 and 512 x 480)
are available on ILLUM-16/AT and ILLUM-16/MC board models.

     TYPE OF BOARD:

                   Choice Meaning
                   -------------------------------------------

              RESOLUTION MODES:

                   Mode X Resolution Y Resolution
                   ------------------------------------------------------
                   M0 512 400
                   M1 512 480
                   M2 640 480
                   M3 1024 768 (interlace only)
                   M4 768 576 (PAL board only)

              TYPE OF OUTPUT:

                   Choice Meaning
                   ----------------------------------------------
                   I Interlace output
                   N Non-Interlace output
                   F Faster output without dithering
                   O Overscan (modes M0 and M1 only)
                   U Underscan (modes M0 and M1 only)

Dithering is a way to improve the quality of the output. This
way the ILLUMINATOR-16 will give the impression of having more colors
than it is actually capable of. It is recommended to use dithering.
The output is only about 3 percent slower when you use dithering. The
dithering will give you the impression that you use a 24-bit board.

Scan mode determines how much of the screen the video output
will cover. In underscan mode, everything is done to preserve a square
aspect ratio, but this means not covering all the active video space on
the screen display. In overscan mode, the full active video space is
used, but the aspect ratio might suffer.

You should use a line similar to the following to set the
   desired modes of the driver:

                    set ILLUMINATOR=T16M2I

This line will set the board to 640 x 480 resolution, with
interlace output, and dithering. This setting could be used to record
   to an NTSC VCR.

The following example will set the board to 768-by-576
resolution, with the current interlace output mode. The driver will use
   dithering.

                    set ILLUMINATOR=T16M4I

If the DOS environment variable ILLUMINATOR is not set, the
driver will default to the current settings of the board, with
dithering. Any parameter left out from the DOS variable will revert to a
default value. If you ask for a resolution not supported by your card,
the driver will use the current value instead.
