   IPI is interesting.  I know it was used on some small mainframes like   
   the 9370 and probably some early AS/400s.  Sun also used it as an option   
   on some Sun3/4 era systems IIRC.  But I think the big frames were all   
   bus/tag until ESCON and FICON.
