Shatner's a professional actor. The       acting profession is cutthroat. You're only popular as long as you       have some fans and some name recognition. As soon as you turn       cold, agents and producers and directors don't even want to know       that you are alive, because they are scared to death you will come       asking them for a favor. When an actor is fired in Hollywood, they       usually don't even know it until their name is removed from their       dressing room door. Nobody has enough decency to tell them.       Everyone is out for himself or herself. It's dog eat dog.              Shatner has made a good living in this world for the past fifty       years or so. He knows it inside out. He's a part of it. He plays       by its rules. And one of its rules is that you don't do any       favors, unless there's something in it for you. Shatner must not       see any advantage to him, personally, if he appears on       "Enterprise" -- and I agree with him, it is not to his advantage.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
