   Indeed. IMO Enterprise failed because it didn't feel like TOS, which it   
   should have, although it started to during season 4. IMO that's what made   
   TOS work, characters that acted like they had been "in the service" together   
   for a while and the show didn't ram political correctness down out throats   
   like TNG and Voy did, they just got on with who they were. As someone said   
   here earlier, it wasn't a big deal that Uhura was black she was the ComO, or   
   that Sulu was Asian, he was the ship's helmsman. And let's not forget an   
   alien who was the XO. The only type casting (if one can call it that) they   
   did was having a Scot as the EO.   
      
   I *would* have a better feeling about the new Trek movie if Coto was   
   involved but after just watching the new Bond film one of the things that   
   struck me was they managed to capture the feeling of early Bond films with   
   out having to duplicate it, so there are some people making movies who   
   actually "get it."
