   But it was about the time they were starting DS9's 3rd season that   
   everything came to a head: The last of the original TOS movies was filming   
   and the first of the TNG movies were being filmed as well as talk of the   
   next Trek series and the launch of a new tv network, Paramount's United   
   Network (until someone alerted them to the obvious problem with that name),   
   so that DS9 got to fly "under the radar" and after 2 season of mostly   
   mediocre at best episodes (altho the Crossover episodes were the ones I   
   remember favorably) everything clicked and DS9 began to become the best tv   
   Trek ever.
