   The entire series is chock full of enough ideas that it could take another   
   40 years of feature films to plow through half of them. There are plenty of   
   omissions like the two you make that I'd agree with. I did like the angle of   
   explaining why there were so many humanoid species in the galaxy which was a   
   great arc and way to do something other than this years mega villain. Even   
   bringing Tiberius finally to the screen while we still have Shatner to do   
   the scenery chewing would be a tricky proposition, but it might be the last   
   best option to save the franchise.   
      
   What they need more than the basic formula they settled into in the last two   
   TNG films which really weren't very different from the super-villain stuff   
   done badly in ST V & VI.
