I've heard B5 called many things, but futuristic was not one of
them...I mean, how can any series whose ships (the Earth ones, at
least) look like the rusted remains of an Erector Set accident, be
called futuristic? There were some alien races, such as the Minbari,
who had very advanced technology, but they never really showed that in
depth. (Well, the White Star, sorta.)

And I had trouble taking B5 seriously ever since I saw the misspelled
signs ("SECUR AREA") in the corridors, the speeches so long-winded they
could power a wind turbine for a hundred years, Londo Mollari's
RIDICULOUSLY fake accent, and that stupid ending to the Shadow war
(yeah, right, they're going to get the hell out of our galaxy just
because some scrawny-ass human tells them to)....well, you get the
   point.
