As I'm looking for signs of intelligence from the Hollywood types when it
comes to ST I know this is probably way off the mark, but maybe someone at
Paramount has actually noticed the popularity of such TOS fan productions
like New Voyages or Starship Exeter and finally figured out that, in fact
they have that original TOS feeling in them missing in later productions.
Perhaps they've finally figured out that they *can* make money catering to
the fans and that they want *good ST* and not some silly more winky-blinks
and space battle shite (like Nemesis). A TOS type movie (or show) if done
properly (ie a good ST story, script and casting) would work as it would
have the nostalgia factor for some fans and a kitschy retro feel to others.
Keep the fans happy and the rest will probably follow them to the theatres.
