   Star Trek DVD question

I would like to get the TOS Blu-rays. Question: I know they are 4:3.
However, are they 4:3 with black bars encoded into the video. or are they
4:3 requiring you to adjust your TV set to show them in 4:3?

The reason I am asking is that a number of sets, including my own, falsely
assume that all HD material is in 16:9 format and do not let you adjust your
set to 4:3 when playing HD video. Unless they have black bars encoded in,
there is no way I can play them.

writing a story where Superman can't fly but he still jumps off of buildings."
