What was the episode this was on?              IIRC there has not been such a canon episode. ISTM that someone has either       mixed up a few canon Q plots, or was referring to a fan episode.              In TNG 1x10 "Hide and Q", Q offered Cmdr. Riker the powers of the Q, and       encouraged him to use them by playing a deadly game with the Enterprise-D's       bridge crew. (Evxre svefg hfrq gurz gb fnir gur perj, ohg yngre erabhaprq       gurz nf jura shysvyyvat uvf pbzenqrf jvfurf ur orpnzr nf neebtnag nf D.)              In TNG 6x06 "True Q", a female Enterprise-D crewmember (on board for       studies; played by Olivia d'Abo) was found to be a Q, and was given the       choice of whether to keep her powers and leave with Q to the continuum,       or to refrain from ever using them again. (Fur pbhyqa'g erfvfg hfvat ure       cbjref sbe fnivat n cynarg sebz na rpbybtvpny pngnfgebcur, naq fb unq gb       yrnir.)              In DS9 1x07 "Q-Less", the female tomb raider^W^Warcheologist Vash (from TNG)       is given the choice by Q to continue traveling with him or die (right on the       DS9 Promenade, IIRC) of a disease she contracted while traveling, which Q       prevented back then. (Fur qrpvqrq va snibe bs D, ohg ur yrg ure tb va gur       raq.)              IIRC no other Q episodes apply to the situation you have described.                     HTH       --       PointedEars              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
