   "Turn it on,
   It says YES,
   Take the shot,
   Zip it down,
   Peel it off!"

Actually, I'm pretty hazy on the words after "it says YES."

It turned out that I had the grey "Big" Swinger, which took the flat
film packs instead of the rolled film packs on the white Little Swinger.
And it cost, I think, $24.95. Then the dark grey COLOR Swinger came out
(for more money than we could afford) and I was envious.

There were Instamatics with single flashbulbs, because the one we had
had a button to pop up the little flash unit, where you inserted the
   bulb.

I had forgotten about the Magicubes that flashed without a battery. Now
I remember trying to take them apart to see how they worked. They had a
different "firing mechanism" and didn't have the little wire contacts. I
do remember that the flashbulbs (and bulbs in the cubes) were filled
with a filament that looked like wadded-up steel wool inside.

My dad's old camera had the little flash unit that unfolded like you
were fanning open the cards in a poker hand, except that the silver
petals went in a full circle and had a hook at the ends so when attached
the petals would curve into a dish shape. Then you put in a _big_
flashbulb and the smell of flashbulb fumes filled the air.
