|    ***I THOUGHT ACTOR RICHARD HERD WAS KARL    |

XPost: alt.tv.real-world, alt.tv.sopranos, rec.arts.movies.current-films       XPost: alt.movies, alt.alien.vampire.flonk.flonk.flonk       From: Judgewavy@SupremeUsenetCourt.gov              I must report this to you, my beautiful, attentive Internet audience. I       must say I am embarrassed. For years now, I have been seeing, what I       thought was, (are those commas necessary?) actor Karl Malden in bit       parts and unusual tv roles. "How strange," I thought. How could a       wonce-thriving Hollywood mainstay to be reduced to such minute (I am       pronouncing this "my-NOOT," with the long "I" sound, not like a minute,       as in 60 seconds) roles, like the "Fruits of our knowledge" guy from       "V," and such. Yeah, I know he did those "American Express" adverts for       years, but that's different. He was selected as a spokesman *because*       of his popular actor status. But why all the oddball roles?              Well, I was watching some "docu-drama" on my television set this       evening, and it featured an interview with this guy--this guy who I       THOUGHT was Karl Malden all this time--and I recognized him, though his       name was "Richard Herd." RICHARD HERD? WHO THE HELL IS THAT??? So I       quickly jumped on my home computer system (as I so often do in a pickle       like this), and looked up "Richard Herd." There he is. He is a real       person. And guess what. He is NOT Karl Malden! HE LOOKS JUST LIKE       HIM!!! No wonder! It makes sense now. We haven't seen Karl Malden in       years. Is Karl Malden even alive any more? If he is, does he still       act? I haven't seen those "American Express" bits for some time, so I       have to wonder...              So if any of you thought this guy was Karl Malden, don't feel bad. You       are not alone. My apologies to Richard Herd (if you are reading this       right now), and anywon else who may have been caught in this horrible       maelstrom of confusion. Good evening, and God bless.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
