   Yes and no.  Lucasfilm counts the Ewok films as canon since Lucas wrote the   
   storylines for them and even parts of each of them.  The upcoming TV show   
   will also be canon for the same reason.  Everything else is considered   
   "official," in that it's a licensed spinoff and all in the same universe,   
   just not binding on Lucas in terms of what he can or can't do on screen   
   (which is, basically, whatever he wants).  So he's free to use the name   
   "Coruscant" (first coined in the Tim Zahn novels) on film, but at the same   
   time ignore the established history of the Sith (which, thankfully, has   
   been retrofitted by several authors since then).  In the end, my opinion is   
   this: I don't care what's labeled what.  I enjoy a lot of it, and I dislike   
   some of it, and that's all that really matters to me.
