|    TNG & DS9 DVD (R1) questions - do they s    |

XPost: rec.arts.startrek       From: askme@somewhere.com              Hello,              I just noticed that the price for most of the TNG and Deep Space Nine DVDs       have finally dropped to reasonable levels at Amazon. I'd like to buy them,       but I've got a couple of questions.              1. I've read that the discs go into sleeves. Does the surface of the disc       come into physical contact with anything? Am I likely to scratch them just       by inserting/removing the discs? Maybe it's just me but I find that DVDs in       general get scratched too easily and that even minor scratches can cause       playback problems, so something like this might be a deal-breaker for me.              2. I read that the series were being re-released in R2 at lower prices and       I believe in slim-line cases. Has anyone heard about the same thing being       planned in R1? Like I said, prices for the existing sets are becoming       reasonable, but if they're going to be even cheaper next year and in better       storage cases I'll probably hold off.              Thanks to anyone who can provide info on these things.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
