   Probably not come to think of it.  Kirk was after all a man in his   
   thirties and Spock hadn't yet hit puberty.  While Spock was a late   
   bloomer apparently, all the other Vulcans experiencing Pon Farr for   
   the first time seem to experience it in their late 20s.
