   The word "franchise" is simply used to contain EVERYTHING that is "Star   
   Trek" based - that includes the TV shows, the movies, the novels, the   
   toys, etc., etc. When the idiots decide to "remake" / "reboot" any   
   franchise it affects all of these other areas as well causing a mess of   
   confusion and incompatibility.
