   Probably we would call that a drive-shaft, or a half-shaft (since there   
   would be two, one each for left and right).   
      
   Interesting that when I look up palier in a Spanish > English dictionary   
   it suggests "bearing", which suggests that the compiler of the   
   dictionary didn't understand engineering ...
