If you tell Whatsapp to export the zip file including media and
then you run in the terminal
$ chat-export -z ChatWhatsApp.zip --embed-media
...you will get an HTML file with "embed media " .

You probably exported the chat without media or maybe you didn't
run chat-export with the proper option (--embed-media
).
