The start menu then, is just so "peaceful" :-)              Hi Paul,       I wonder if you remember, when Windows 10 first came out, you and I tried       to wrestle control over both the alphabetical and orthogonal tiled menus?              It turned out the tiled menus are some kind of sadistically controlled       binary, as I recall, so we both summarily gave up trying to control it.              The alphabetical menu is easily controlled, but every day an update throws       more crap in there such that it wasn't worth trying to keep it clean.              The only "clean" menu is a menu that no other program knows about.       You populate it from the desktop shortcut that is often created by an msi.              You organize it by what the program *does* instead of by brand name.       Organizing by brand name is like organizing your kitchen utensils by brand.              The funny thing is everyone figures out how to organize forks from spoons.       But, for some odd reason, most people can't organize browsers from editors.              Go figure.       --       The kind of people who post to Usenet are a dying breed of people who       prefer to learn from others & to edify them with their mental largesse.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
