I have a pair of expensive headphones that do this (Sennheiser). It
happens in Linux, but it is similar to what you describe.

The day I boot the laptop, they work fine. Days later (hibernating the
machine in between), they connect for an instant, then disconnect. I can
not play any sound. Nothing will convince the thing to work. I don't
know exactly at what time after booting it stops working.

I just use another pair of headphones, cheaper, which work fine under
this circumstance. If I want to use the good pair, I have to reboot.
