   You're looking at a job to replace the engine, but to repair what's wrong   
   you're probably going to have to pull the engine anyway.   
      
   As far as the ball joints, I saw an older Honda Odyssey van with a wheel   
   in the wheel well and the BJ in pieces on the ground (I think the older   
   Odyssey vans were based on the Civic, because the BJ was about the size of   
   a quarter!He was pulling into a gas station at a very low speed.
