From: 1991@nowhere.com              Shop called back.              One of the pistons on the master cyl was hanging up. Replacement       there. Also gt new pads in front. CV boot needed replacing and       repacking of course. (Bearings ok.)              And he said they pulled the codes and were getting 25 along with 26,       and it turned out to be the AFM (air flow meter). The bad news is the       AFM is $600-something new from a dealer, but a rebuilt one is about       $290-something, and thankfully it only takes about 30-min to install       it.              So total damage comes to something like $930 + tax... plus the $85 tow       and $700 in tires last week = ~$1,700+              Oh, and he said the back shoes are not low at all, but are cracked       everywhere, and the rear cylinders are just starting to leak. So       that's another $250-275 or so, but I'll do that in a month or so. He       said I could wait.              At least I didn't get in a crash and hurt anyone else, myself, or my       truck. :)              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
