   Here's the scene: '94 Surf 3.0 SSR Limited. Ascending a long gentle   
   gradient at 60 mph - temperature normal. Background ticking noise   
   becomes evident, followed quickly by a huge explosion and steam issuing   
   from both sides of the hood. Both the spigot and cap blown off the top   
   of the radiator. Obvious fatal blow between a cylinder and the water   
   jacket.   
   Now in the repair shop with the head off. No sign of a significant   
   gasket leak but one cylinder has obvious evidence of water ingestion -   
   white deposits on piston, valves and manifolds.   
   What's happened? - any ideas? Has anyone had this happen?
