Hey, I feel your pain.55 of 57 winters in Central Ontario. Can expect
snow anytime between the first of October and the first of June, and
you never know how much. Last year was a record setter on the high
side. This year we are close to record-breaking on the low side.So far
   - but we are barely half-way in.
And here in Kitchener-Waterloo sometimes we don't get any when all
around us gets pounded - and other times WE are the target -usually
hits a lot harder 15K north or west.
Many winters we only see one or 2 days below -1F. This year we've
already had over half a dozen. Supposed to hit -10F tonight. High
   today was about +8.

Summer can start anytime after March - and restart several times,
sometimes with snow in between. Sometimes the best summer weather we
get comes in October. And sometimes after the first snow.

We say if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes. If you do,
Ditto. Comes with living close to, and between 3 major lakes.

At least we don't get Hurricaines (well we did in '54) and the
Tornados are not a DAILY occurrence, but we've had our share of bad
ones over the last 40 years or so.
Last summer basically wasn't. But I'm not complaining. 72F from March
to october would suit me just fine.

The 2 winters I missed (actually 1 1/2) I was in Africa where the
weather was SO predictable. For 90 days it rained. Virtually every day
(in the years the rains came - which they did when I was there) and
for the rest of the year you KNEW it wasn't going to rain. You could
   take that to the bank.

We are using a LOT less salt over the last 10 years, so now our cars
gat shaken to peices by potholes instead of rusting away. Still enough
   salt to do damage though!!!
