   The West of Scotland if not Scotland as a whole is very drawn into the Irish   
   troubles with Loyalist & Republican clubs, pubs, bands and organisations all   
   over the place.  That more than anything is probably why Scotland was never   
   targeted.  Having said that I'm sure I read somewhere that Glasgow was the   
   most bombed city in UK at one point (think most of it was criminal   
   firebombings, etc).   
      
   When most people think of 'Britain' or 'The Crown' it's England they think   
   of.
