   I still fear that the SNP vote may simply be the Scots telling Labour   
   that they're pissed off by all the overspending, crime and the war.   
      
   Old loyalties die hard and come the next election they may switch   
   back, unless Brown really puts in the boot to punish them for not   
   voting Labour this time round. Personally, I'm amazed that anyone   
   voted for their re-election instead of for mass hangings outside   
   Westminster Hall.   
      
   The nationalists may well yet rue the day they lost Blair to hammer   
   home the message that Westminster thinks of Scotland as a resources   
   hinterland and beyond that, just anothe bloody nuisance like Northern   
   Ireland.
