You have to watch and not exaggerate how badly the other parties did. Labour
lost out but their actual share of the vote in the constituencies only fell
by 2.5% to 32.2%. The Lib Dems, even though they lost 2 seats, actually
increased their share of the vote. The Conservative share of the vote stayed
the same. The SNP's share rose by 9.2% and it was a great success for them,
and a real watershed, however to keep it in persepctive it was only 32.9% of
the total vote or 0.7% ahead of Labour.
