   I admit that I also am tempted when I think of some specific   
   criminals. But the issue is that once the principle is accepted, you   
   can not control anymore if the principle will become a pretext for   
   cold blooded murder by fanatics, dictators etc...

   Our forebears of only a few centuries ago were aliens to most of the   
   world. Maybe sometime after a war with aliens, someone will write that   
   we need a good war against some new aliens, because that will unite us   
   with the old ones...   
   Seriously: no peace comes from war; it never worked; why would it work   
   with aliens?
