   I agree. Religious people take for 99% the religion of the circles in   
   which they accidentally grow up. Although they try to rationalize   
   their choice afterwards (or worse, try to frighten people who have   
   other ideas), they can never escape the question: what if I was born   
   in Central China? In Terra Del Fuego? In a hundred other places? A few   
   centuries ago those questions did not come up by most people. In our   
   age - and in the Internet! - they can not be avoided.   
      
   Religious claims to 'truth' exceed by far the claims ever made by   
   reasonably hesitating people, and therefore can only be a reflex   
   towards the coincidental nature of their faith.
