   Those damn sneaky Orientals they steal everything even the advances of   
   the superior white guy. But oh please give some examples.   
      
   Let's see in Asia there were advances in ship construction,   
   exploration, porcelain, moveable type printing, iron clad ships, all   
   prior to same elsewhere. Then in Africa gold and bronze casting by   
   Benin and Ashanti superior in quality to what was produced in Europe   
   until much later and then...   
      
   Try looking without preconceived notions of superiority (i.e.   
   prejudice/self promotion).   
      
   Cultures and peoples interacted; cultures were and are very fluid. The   
   right time, place, ruler and catalyst like European Protestant movement   
   helped Western Europe make technical advances.   
   Protestants were interested in literacy and printing to spread their   
   beliefs.   
   Chinese exploration died when the emperor decided it was threatening.   
   The Pope stopped Galileo...
