From: peterportillo@freenetone.co.uk              The Saints and their meaning and place in Christianity.              Bird Flu: Precautions.       What we need is a full-time Patron Saint exclusively for Chickens,       both free-range and Broiler House. We have a well known Patron Saint       for Animals, Saint Francis. But his responsibility is fairly diffuse       taking in all birds. With 90 million or more chickens in Europe alone       the problem is immense. For those who doubt the breadth of this       Saints responsibilities and its effects (or lack) just cast your       memory back to the BSE catastrophe. All practicing catholics and       wooden ones should be pressuring their local priests to put forward a       suitable name to the appropriate Vatican authorities. The last pope       was well known for creating new saints and this one was a close ally       and friend. The prospects are promising.              It would be best to clear whatever course of action or in-action you       take with the Office of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith.       You don't want The Office of the Inquisition banging on your door!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
