The British Army doesn't like employing nutters, and       the look and feel of its approach is that military solutions are a means to       an end, not an end in themselves.              If you examine his comments on occupation and the use of force, you'll see       he concedes that both can exacerbate a situation, meaning, military means       can be counter-productive. Clearly, his view is that peace, or order and       harmony, is the higher goal.              I've run into enough assholes at the top and bottom, and examined myself       enough, to know that hurt, leads to fear, hate, and bitterness. Indeed, this       is buried in Bushido philosophy, and the Samurai regarded the gun as a       cowards weapon. In its own way, this is a pause for thought.              This, I suggest, puts a new spin on so-called "limousine liberals."              --       Charles E.
