|    The Two Doors    |

From: roines@mindspring.com              There are two doors that go into eternity,       and every person goes thru one or the other.       One door is very wide and very popular,       and almost everyone goes thru that door.       In fact the only thing that anyone has to do       to go thru that door is not go thru the other.       That other door is narrow,       and not many people go thru it.       The reason not many people go thru it       is because there is only one way to do it.       That way is to place ALL trust in Christ       for salvation in order to have eternal life.       A lot of people who try to go thru that door       cannot do it.       Why can they not do it?       Because they have not placed their trust       entirely in Christ for salvation.       They divide their trust between him       and what they consider other gods,       or else between him and leaders, saints, angels,       or works that they should certainly do       but that are not to be trusted in for salvation,       such as their own efforts to be good enough       (repent, submit, obey, surrender, commit)       and church, baptism, sacrament, serving,       giving, sacrificing, good deeds, etc.       Why is it so hard for people to trust only Christ?       This is why:       The truth that began the Protestant movement       is hardly heard today.       A great many still profess to trust in Christ alone,       but without knowing the basis for that       many end up dividing trust       between Christ and self.       What is that truth that is the basis       for trusting Christ alone?       It is this:       Christ is our entire righteousness for salvation,       and his righteousness is considered to be ours       when and only when we trust in him alone.              --       http://roines.home.mindspring.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
