   Hi,   
      
   I have a friend who loves Star Trek.  We have also have many political   
   discussions.  I was wondering if there is any type of politics in any of the   
   Star Trek movies or shows, like there is in Star Wars.  Do any of the   
   characters run for any type of political office, what are the political   
   parties called, etc.   
      
   Any info would be greatly appreciated.
