From: dave@davelowe.us              Greetings Fellow Star Trek Fans,              The United Federation of Planets Galaxy, founded by Star Trek enthusiasts       on June, 8 1987, and has become an international fan organization whose       members (45+) are united the world over in their appreciation of Star       Trek: The Greatest Human Adventure. Starfleet is the operating authority       for those chapter worldwide to link members into local fandom as well as       the International organization.              Our Mission: To peacefully explore deep-space. To seek out new       civilizations and new life.              Our Statement: To promote the optimistic ideals envisioned in Star Trek.              Our Vision: To make the dream of a peaceful Earth as envisioned in Star       Trek a reality.              Our Values: Caring, Respect, Teamwork, Common Sense, Aggressiveness,       Honesty, Fun              Headquarters: Albuquerque, New Mexico - North America, Earth, Sol System              We are people of all ages and from all walks of life who enjoy Star Trek       in all its forms -- the three season original series, the major motion       pictures, the television series (The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine,       Voyager, Enterprise), and the numerous books and magazines. Our Prime       Directive is to share our interest in Star Trek in an open environment, to       serve our community, and to have fun. All interested persons are welcome       to join us.              Since it's debut on television 35+ years ago Star Trek was the first       successful mass visualization of the future. Its enduring strength arose       from the fact that it was the first science fiction show to emphasize plot       and character -- and to present a universe where people of all races       worked together to solve common problems.              Throughout an original three season run, a cartoon sequel, a number of       major motion pictures, four new television series, and numerous books, the       dream lives on. Classic Trek gave us more than an escape from the       turbulent 60's. It offered hope for the future. When it was canceled, Bjo       Trimble's successful grassroots campaign to keep it on the air made       television history. Star Trek taught us that we can control mass media --       we do have a say over our environment ... and our destiny.              The meetings of the Starships (clubs) of the Fleet offer opportunities to       have fun while you serve your community. We recognize crew members who       have done extra service or distinguished themselves in service to the UFP       Galaxy. In keeping with the problem-solving themes of Star Trek, our       members do more than meet and talk about the show. The crews of the Fleet       are active in support of charity. We believe that time is our most       valuable gift, so we donate time to help persons and charitable       organizations. We conduct fundraisers and volunteer our services to help       our community.              Each club member brings his or her special abilities to the group. We       recognize this value by assigning fictional ranks and positions within the       Fleet, reflecting the interests of the members. In addition, participation       allows the individual to advance in fictional rank.              We are undergoing a total reformation and revival of the organization, and       are seeking veteran and new Star Trek fans that seek to return to the old       days of fandom, where clubs and chapters were serious about community       service and the Star Trek franchise.              We are offering straight across rank promotions up to Fleet Captain.       Ranks higher than that will be subject to Command review. We are seeking       leaders to help resurge the organization and rebuild into a vital and       proactive organization.              Go to our website at http://www.ufpgalaxy.com to join today. If you are       an established chapter, we can accommodate your entire membership. The       best part of this - membership is free.              Respectfully,              RADM Michael Frisbee       Chief of Starfleet Operations       UFP Galaxy International       CO - USS Scimitar, Triad Regional NC, UFPG Chapter                     --              Dave Lowe http://davedorm.com       Tampa, FL       USS MacArthur / Genesis Fleet / UFPGI              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
