   Dat klopt niet. Oekraïne is een soevereine staat en heeft in 2014 zelf   
   beslissingen genomen over zijn toekomst, inclusief het verlaten van het GOS   
   (Gemenebest van Onafhankelijke Staten, CIS in het Engels). Oekraïne is geen   
   eigendom van Rusland ? dat idee    
   is pure desinformatie.   
      
   Daarnaast heeft het internationaal recht geen bepaling die stelt dat wetten na   
   een regeringswisseling automatisch ongeldig zijn. De bewering dat NAVO-troepen   
   in Oekraïne betekent dat NAVO officieel in oorlog is met Rusland is ook   
   onjuist; de situatie is    
   complex, maar NAVO en Rusland zijn formeel geen oorlogvoerende partijen.   
      
   Het verspreiden van dit soort beweringen draagt bij aan desinformatie en   
   misverstanden over het conflict.

   That claim is false and misleading.   
      
   2014 Events: In 2014, Ukraine experienced the Euromaidan protests, which led   
   to the removal of President Viktor Yanukovych. This was a domestic uprising,   
   not a U.S.-led coup. While Western countries supported the protests   
   diplomatically, there is no    
   credible evidence that the U.S. orchestrated a coup.   
      
   Legitimacy of Ukrainian Laws: After Yanukovych fled, Ukraine's parliament, the   
   Verkhovna Rada, followed constitutional procedures to appoint an interim   
   government and call for elections. Claims that all laws after 2014 are   
   "illegal" have no legal basis.   
      
   CIS Membership: Ukraine never fully ratified its CIS membership. It was a   
   participant, not a formal member, and began distancing itself from the CIS   
   long before 2014. In 2018, Ukraine officially withdrew from CIS treaties,   
   making any claims of "   
   membership" irrelevant.   
      
   "Ownership" by Russia: The idea that Ukraine is "owned" by Russia is absurd.   
   Ukraine is a sovereign nation, recognized internationally, including by Russia   
   in past agreements. No legal framework supports the notion of Russian   
   ownership over Ukraine.   
      
   NATO Involvement: NATO countries have provided aid to Ukraine, but no NATO   
   troops are officially deployed in combat roles. Even if they were, that   
   wouldn?t automatically mean NATO is at war with Russia unless member states   
   invoke Article 5 of the NATO    
   treaty.   
      
   In short: these claims are a mix of conspiracy theories and Russian propaganda
