   Demons and their sly tricks.   
      
   One such trick is ghosts. They pretend to be such. Not just to scare   
   you, for to them, you are nothing but a piece of excrement. But their   
   primary goal is always to downgrade God in some way.   
      
   They know what the Bible says at Ec 9:5:   
      
   - Revised Standard   
   Ecclesiastes 9:5  For the living know that they will die, but the dead   
   know nothing, and they have no more reward; but the memory of them is   
   lost.   
      
   Yes, the dead lose ALL their memories and thoughts because the brain   
   ceases to be a functioning organ. Jesus refers to the dead as being   
   "asleep". You can read the account at John 11:11-14.   
      
   Thus the demons by appearing as ghosts, try to contradict Ec 9:5 and   
   John 11:11-14. They try to perpetuate the belief that people live on   
   immediately after death, which the Bible doesn't teach. They say your   
   "soul" lives forever. (is immortal) Let's see:

   Ezekiel 18:4  Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as   
   well as the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sins shall die.   
      
   Hmmmm. If a soul can DIE, it certainly can't be immortal, can it.   
      
   Another one of their tricks is improper sex. They know that is a   
   powerful force in humans, and that the Bible says only a husband and   
   wife should experience that. So Satan and his demons invent   
   pornography.   
      
   And there are many other tricks and deceptions that they confront   
   mankind with. They not only want to stop you from serving God, but   
   want to DEVOUR you while they are at it:   
      
   - Revised Standard   
   1 Peter 5:8  Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls   
   around like a roaring lion, seeking some one to devour.   
      
   So do we have a chance with a powerful unseen spirit being? Without   
   God's help, no. But faithful Christians do:   
      
   -- Revised Standard   
   James 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he   
   will flee from you.
