   For me, the more interesting moments on this NG happened when someone   
   pointed out that one could read or interpret Tolkien's work in a way   
   different from the way I had usually done it. And of course the odd bits   
   and pieces one learns during a discussion, even if it goes off-topic.   
      
   So I think what counts (at least for me) is perspective, not   
   expertise. So don't be afraid to contribute something, if you think   
   it might be interesting for somebody else :-)

   Yes, I fully agree. For some reason they also made the HTML so   
   difficult and non-standard that I frequently have problems with my   
   (non-standard) browser.
