   One must wonder at the masterful command of the language exhibited by   
   Tolkien. As Rateliff so cleverly remarks, 'Tolkien is deft at conveying   
   characterization with extreme economy (so much so that careless readers   
   and critics often miss it entirely)' -- rarely have these words been so   
   true as they are for the Entish Warden of the Keys in Gondor.
