   Or for a dram. Another discussion here has reminded me that in Meänkieli,   
   the version of Finnish spoken in the north of Swedish, "sup" ("dram") is   
   called "suupu", and that they call a "pine" "talli", not "mänty", as in the   
   Finnish of Finland. A "suuputalli" was a pine where travelling farmers used   
   to stop to have a dram. No doubt they shared their booze with the pine. So   
   Húrin the Tall may have longed for the good old days in the North.
