   Tried any of his non-SF stuff?  It comes under "Scottish Fiction" in   
   my local Borders.  Iain M Banks for SF, Iain Banks for non-SF.  His   
   "Crow Road" has what I think is possibly the best ever opening   
   line/hook for a story.
