   Right. However, even the mere-est Christian position, 20 centuries   
   notwithstanding,   
   doesn't solve the details of just how the (general) Christian position is   
   worked out.   
   We know that the general position didn't prevent Christians from making   
   horrendous mistakes- sometimes while invoking the very name of Christ. God   
   help us; we're still not immune even in this 'enlightened' age. We are yet   
   in desperate need of Grace.
