   Selective quoting from diverse & complex works can be made to support   
   practically any position at all; fundamentalists & fanatics will always   
   be able to find rationalizations for their prejudices. We are also told   
   that Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I   
   came not to send peace, but a sword" (Matthew 10:34 - KJV), and that   
   Muhammad said, "To endure with fortitude and to forgive is a duty   
   incumbent on all" (from Sura 42, _Al Shura_ - trans. N.J. Dawood). It   
   takes more than pulling out a few such 'sound-bites' to assess the   
   implications of these texts and how they are interpreted by those   
   followers of the respective religions who are (comparatively?) sane and
