I am not talking about the eleventh century, I am talking about someone
today, who would try to argue that the Crusades showed the all Christians
are only doing God's will, which is to fight against the unbelievers.

I sorry if I used an example which "pushed the wrong button". Just in
case it is still not clear: I am *not* trying to argue that the
Christians are as bad as the Muslims, because they fought a war in the
name of religion. I am arguing exactly the contrary: That it is wrong
to argue this way, because it is just not the case that one particular
interpretation of religion which lead to the Crusades necessarily
generalizes to all believers in this faith. If I understand you correctly,
   you agree with that.

And in the same way, it doesn't generalize for Muslims: Just because
the radicals interpret the Koran to suit their goals, it doesn't mean
that *all* Muslim necessarily interpret the Koran this way. And in fact,
personal experience shows that many don't.
