   for the sky is red and overcast.' O you hypocrites, you can discern   
   the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.   
   4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign   
   shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah."   
   So He left them and departed.

   "Why does this generation look for a sign? Truly I say to you,   
   no sign shall be given to this generation."   
   13 Then He left them and, entering the boat again,   
   departed to the other side.   
      
   [11] And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking   
   of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.   
   [12] And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation   
   seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto   
   this generation.   
   [13] And he left them, and entering into the ship again departed to the   
   other side.   
      
   The Yeast of the Pharisees and of Herod   
   Mt 16:5-12   
      
   14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread   
   and did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.   
   15 (Mk 12:13; 1Co 5:6-8) He warned them, "Take heed.   
   Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod."   
   16 They reasoned among themselves, saying, "It is because we have no bread."   
   17 (Mk 6:52) Being aware of it, Jesus said to them, "Why do you reason   
   that you have no bread? Do you still not perceive or understand?   
   Are your hearts still hardened?   
   18 (Jer 5:21; Mk 4:12) Having eyes, do you not see? Having ears,   
   do you not hear? (Jer 5:21; Isa 6:9-10.) And do you not remember?   
   19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand,   
   how many baskets full of broken pieces did you collect?"   
   They said to Him, "Twelve."   
   20 "And the seven among the four thousand, how many baskets   
   full of broken pieces did you collect?"   
   They said, "Seven."   
   21 (Mk 6:52) He said to them, "Do you still not understand?"   
      
   [14] Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the   
   ship with them more than one loaf.   
   [15] And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the   
   Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.   
   [16] And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no
