XPost: alt.christnet.christianlife, alt.bible, alt.christnet.christnews       XPost: alt.religion.christian.east-orthodox, alt.religion.christ       an.roman-catholic       From: .robert@mu.way              A FALSE TEACHING              The Bible nowhere teaches or indicates gifts like tongues, miracles, and       healings, must remain in effect until Christ returns. There is no future       tense in the Greek, which necessitates perpetual, ongoing action. Citing a       verse where Jesus predicts people would do signs and wonders (e.g. Matthew       24:24; Mark 13:22), doesn't necessitate they had to "keep on happening" till       Christ returns. It just meant there had to be a time when they would occur,       after Christ predicted it. That already happened (Hebrews 2:3-4).       *************************************************              “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first       began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard       him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with       divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?”       (Heb 2:3-4)              The above was written After Galatians. Which according to the teacher with no       name, means that this was unnecessary scripture for all those things had       already been terminated.              “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning       of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” (Mat 24:21)              “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved:       but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.” (Mat 24:22)              **“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew       great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall       deceive the very elect.” (Mat 24:24) **              “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here isChrist, or there; believe       itnot.” (Mat 24:23)              “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew       great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it werepossible, they shall       deceive the very elect.” (Mat 24:24)              “Behold, I have told you before.” (Mat 24:25)              “Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not       forth: behold,he is in the secret chambers; believe itnot.” (Mat 24:26)              Notice how the entity with no name took/parsed a scripture our of context, to       make a point              But the biggest mistake she of he made as the statement made above, There is       no future tense in the Greek, which necessitates perpetual, ongoing       action.”              If that were the case, then once a person is forgiven my Jesus, and all their       past sins were wiped out and the memory of them no more is in the mind of       God, that their sins from that day forth will never be forgiven. However, 1       John 1:7 denies that with an ongoing action word              “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one       with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all       sin.” (1Jn 1:7)              “Cleanseth” is an ongoing action word like a washing machine that helps       on washing clothes. Only in this case it is the blood of Jesus that washes       away our sins, for the believer, “IF” he has committed any.              =====================              “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to       every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that       believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that       believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new       tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it       shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall       recover.” (Mrk 16:15-18)              This, a commandment to the disciples and ALL believers is to Go and DO. That       all the people who follow the words and desire of God, will do these things       until the day of his return. They are not to stop until they are pulled out       of the world. He says “They SHALL”. So those that do, “SHALL”.              The Spirit of God has not run out of energy, nor has the hand of God been       shortened. Neither has the work that was started been completed.              It is a false Gospel to teach otherwise, and is taught often by weak       faithless people with no hope, and is their excuse for being .....              Oh, and one last thing for this post, being as the no name poster brought it       up, re:Tongues. Which I will address in another post, is this,...              “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not       charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.” (1Co 13:1)              Tongues does not necessarily mean just the tongues of Men, but it is also the       languages of angels, both done with love, not feigned, not prideful, but with       and out of Love.              And with regards to the Bible being ALL THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD? “For we know       in part, and we prophesy in part.” (1Co 13:9)              “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know       in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” (1Co 13:12)              Who is Face to Face with Jesus at this moment or time? Jesus Christ is       returning to plant his feet on the ground and rule for 1K years. He will come       also before then, but in the clouds to redeem all his people.              Pray that you be counted worthy.              “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to       escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son       of man.” (Luk 21:36)              PS: This was not intended to be posted solely to a specific person, but is       posted to counter the misunderstandings that they presented, The Glory of the       Lord has not ceased, nor has His will and desire for the total salvation of       individual men for everything in their life. It is His will that you be       healthy, wise, freed from sin, and filled with His Spirit and the might of       His spirit by which you can do all things according to His will. He also       knows the desires of out hearts and seeks to do good for those that love Him.       So enter into his courtyard with praise and thanksgiving, for we who believe       in and upon Jesus have full throne room rights at this present time, where we       can present our needs, desires, etc. with Jesus right their next to the       Heavenly Father as our Advocated and High Priest. He clothes us with the       Robes of Righteousness as we enter in. That IS how he sees us, as his own and       as himself.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
