XPost: alt.christnet.christianlife, alt.bible, alt.christnet.christnews       From: .robert@mu.way              On Oct 21, 2025, Robert wrote       (Message-ID: <10d7blo$3obc9$1@dont-email.me>):              I didn’t post this to acc so here it is. The early day believers, and these       evidences still occur.       Here is the prophecy first of John the Baptist.              Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh       after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall       baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:              Mat 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and       gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with       unquenchable fire.              Keep in mind what he spoke in V11, but I would like to point out V12 to those       whose ‘religion’ tells them that there is no everlasting Lake of Fire,       and the deepest parts of Hell, they mock the word of the Lord. To the other       religious people the lackadaisical and or the pharisaic, you may be part of       this chaff. He gathers up the wheat, but not the flakes, those that are the       shell of the wheat, IOW he spits out the lukewarm, so think about that, and       “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to       escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son       of man.” (Luk 21:36) This thought also Paul recounted in 2 Thes 1:5 to the       end of the chapter of which I am going to quote one verse that being,       “Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy       of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the       work of faith with power:” (2Th 1:11) So it is rather obvious that the Lord       desires us to know these things so that we do not slack off in doubt and       disbelief.              Now, back to the book of Matthew and JtB. Jesus spoke highly of him, calling       him the greatest prophet of all time before, Yet John knew where he lacked,       recognized that, and said,...              Mat 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized       of him.              Mat 3:14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and       comest thou to me?              Mat 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus       it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.              Yes, V14 spoke JtB as he knew of a far deeper walk with the Lord that should       follow those that followed Jesus. Which Jesus confirmed to us when He said,       “Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not       risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in       the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” (Mat 11:11)              In todays English that verse is translated as;              Mat 11:11 Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen       anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of       heaven is greater than he.              This spoke to the early Believer as much as it applies to us, today. The       gifts and the callings of Jesus Christ has not diminished, nor has the need       of them. We live in a very fallen world, the world that Jesus said was coming       when He prophesied of this time as the days of Sodom and Gomorrah etc. And we       can see all the sexual perversion, the evil corruption than is embedded in       all forms of government, from which we will get a short reprieve by the Lord       in order to gather up billions into the kingdom of God in a short amount of       time, and then the Lord will return in the clouds to snatch us suddenly, in       the blink of an eye, and then sudden destruction will fall on all those that       remain. What a horrible position to be left in, many might rejoice thinking       good all these christians will be out of out faces and celebrate that like       the Mardi Gras, as the last days to sin freely before lent. But that joy will       be quickly destroyed....              I wrote more than I intended, here as my thoughts were to basically resend       this link to acc, but as I read, I saw and felt that these things should be       passed on to you all.              >       > And yes, upon every born again believer were the gifts of the Holy Spirit       > given, Stephen the martyr was killed because of his works of Faith.       >       > Act 10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that       > it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.       >       > Act 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name       > whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.       >       > Act 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them       > which heard the word.
