XPost: alt.christnet.christianlife, alt.bible, alt.christnet.christnews       XPost: alt.religion.christian.east-orthodox       From: .robert@mu.way              What many do not know the reality of is that the koine Greek is *not* a       religious language. Just like the Kings English is likewise not a religious       language and in fact the usage of it differed from the use of English today.       Like “evil” does not always signify satanic actions in the Bible, of any       version.              There is no true well defined dictionary of Greek words that I know of, And       if anyone bothered to take the time to look up any word they will find the       word used many times to mean many things. The why’s of that is explained       quit well with a good lexicon, and even that is not sufficient for the best       understanding.’              So how is one to know?              First off, if a person does not have a working relationship with God the       Father through Jesus the Messiah, and with the second comforter, the Holy       Spirit. Their chances for understanding is nil. Even if they spent 30 years       in studying the greek langauge, when it comes to the things of God. They are       just as ignorant as any theologian who studied the Bible for 30 years without       being led by the Holy Spirit.              Don’t believe me? Then look up the word *ekklesia* but in the koine Greek       language. Try and describe what it actually meant to the Greek and then post       it here.              Tomorrow I will post it to another NG so that you will know I did not take       any of your definitions into account for my understands, as it will have a       time stamp on when I posted it.              If what you come up with is something you gleaned from the WWW of Usenet       after reading this, please be honest enough to say so. Just the Greek       definition void of any religious connotation. We can get into that a few days       later, so as to give any repliers time to write it out.              If any of you read AI Rosies stuff and see him or her comment on this please       post it as AI R is kf’d in my reader. No matter where she or he posts.              I am curious what you all understand in regards to that word.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
