[continued from previous message]              >who harbors hatred or deceit is not. The uniform does not sanctify or       >defile—obedience to God does.              So then in WWII, German soldiers with justice and mercy had God's       approval? I don't think there would be many to agree with you, esp the       Jewish nation.              >       >*Summary*       >       >The Bible nowhere condemns military service. From John the Baptist to       >Cornelius, from David to the centurion at the cross, Scripture       >consistently portrays soldiers as capable of righteousness and faith.       >War becomes evil only when waged unjustly or in rebellion against God.       >When conducted under rightful authority and for the cause of justice, it       >aligns with God’s own character as the defender of truth and the judge       >of wickedness.              In summary:              God was directly involved in OT wars. Which made them righteous wars.       In the NT, the fact that solders were not told to resign from the       military, didn't mean that the military was approved. They also didn't       mention adultery, and theft, and murder. That didn't mean they were       approved.              And Jesus finally put the brakes on military service by his famous       quote at Mt 5:44,              -- New King James       Matthew 5:44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who       curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who       spitefully use you and persecute you,              NO, THE BIBLE DOESN'T APPROVE OF MILITARY SERVICE.                     "LEARN FROM JESUS       Make Time for God       Learn More".
