[continued from previous message]              [30] Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her       son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the       freewoman.       [31] So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the       free.              Galatians 5              1 (Gal 2:4; Ac 15:10; 1Co 16:13) For freedom Christ freed us. Stand fast       therefore and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.              [1] Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free,       and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.              Christian Freedom              2 (Ac 15:1; 2Co 10:1) Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you       become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.       3 (Lk 16:28; Gal 3:10) I testify again to every man who is circumcised       that he is obligated to keep the whole law.       4 (Heb 12:15; Ro 9:31-32) You have been cut off from Christ,       whoever of you are justified by law; you have fallen from grace.       5 (Ro 8:23-25) For we, through the Spirit, by faith, eagerly       wait for the hope of righteousness.       6 (1Co 7:19; 1Th 1:3) For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision       nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith which works through love.       7 (1Co 9:24; Gal 3:1) You were running well. Who hindered you       from obeying the truth?       8 (Gal 1:6) This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you.       9 (1Co 15:33) A little yeast leavens the whole batch.       10 (2Co 2:3; Gal 1:7) I have confidence in you through the Lord       that you will not think otherwise. But he who is troubling you shall       bear his judgment, whoever he is.       11 (1Co 1:23; Gal 4:29) Brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision,       why do I still suffer persecution?       Then the offense of the cross has ceased.       12 (Gal 5:10) I wish that those who are troubling you would castrate       themselves!       13 (1Co 8:9; 9:19) You, brothers, have been called to liberty.       Only do not use liberty to give an opportunity to the flesh,       but by love serve one another.       14 (Lev 19:18; Mt 7:12; 19:18-19) For the entire law is fulfilled       in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."       (Lev 19:18.)       15 But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that       you are not consumed by one another.              [2] Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall       profit you nothing.       [3] For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a       debtor to do the whole law.       [4] Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified       by the law; ye are fallen from grace.       [5] For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.       [6] For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor       uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.       [7] Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?       [8] This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.       [9] A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.       [10] I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none       otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment,       whosoever he be.       [11] And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer       persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.       [12] I would they were even cut off which trouble you.       [13] For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty       for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.       [14] For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love       thy neighbour as thyself.       [15] But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not       consumed one of another.              Spiritual Fruit and Fleshly Works              16 (Eph 2:3; Ro 8:4-5) I say then, walk in the Spirit,       and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.       17 (Ro 8:5-8; 8:13) For the flesh lusts against the Spirit,       and the Spirit against the flesh. These are in opposition       to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.       18 (Ro 8:14) But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.       19 (Mt 15:18-19; 1Co 3:3) Now the works of the flesh are revealed,       which are these: adultery, sexual immorality, impurity, lewdness,       20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy,       rage, selfishness, dissensions, heresies,       21 (Ro 13:13; 1Co 6:9-10) envy, murders, drunkenness, carousing,       and the like. I warn you, as I previously warned you,       that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.       22 (Eph 5:9; Ro 7:4) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,       patience, gentleness, goodness, faith,       23 (Ac 24:25; 1Ti 1:9) meekness, and self-control; against       such there is no law.       24 (Ro 6:6; Gal 6:14) Those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh       with its passions and lusts.       25 (Gal 5:16) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.       26 Let us not be conceited, provoking one another and envying one another.              [16] This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust       of the flesh.       [17] For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the       flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the       things that ye would.       [18] But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.       [19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery,       fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,       [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife,       seditions, heresies,       [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which       I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do       such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.       [22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,       gentleness, goodness, faith,       [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.       [24] And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections       and lusts.       [25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.       [26] Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying       one another.              Galatians 6              Bear One Another's Burdens              1 (Heb 12:13; Ro 15:1; 1Co 2:15) Brothers, if a man is caught       in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore such       a one in the spirit of meekness, watching yourselves,       lest you also be tempted.       2 (Ro 15:1; Jn 13:34) Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill       the law of Christ.       3 (1Co 3:18; 2Co 12:11; Ro 12:3) For if someone thinks himself       to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.       4 (1Co 11:28; 2Co 13:5) But let each one examine his own work,       and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.       5 (1Co 3:8) For each one shall bear his own burden.       6 (Ro 15:27) Let him who is taught in the word share all good things       with him who teaches.       7 (1Co 6:9; 2Co 9:6) Be not deceived. God is not mocked.       For whatever a man sows, that will he also reap.       8 (Jas 3:18; Job 4:8; Hos 8:7) For the one who sows to his own flesh       will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit       will from the Spirit reap eternal life.       9 (Heb 12:3; 1Co 15:58; Heb 12:5) And let us not grow weary in doing good,       for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up.       10 (Eph 2:19; Jn 12:35) Therefore, as we have opportunity,       let us do good to all people, especially to those who are of       the household of faith.              [1] Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual,       restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest       thou also be tempted.       [2] Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.              [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
